Privacy Policy

1. Scope and consent

This policy applies to the PDFCone website and the PDFCone Android app. By using the Services, you acknowledge that information may be handled as described in this policy. Where applicable law requires consent—for example, for certain advertising or local-storage purposes—PDFCone uses consent tools to request the appropriate choice before requesting ads.

This Privacy Policy does not create consent for processing that legally requires a separate, affirmative choice. Any required advertising consent is handled through the relevant consent message or privacy-choice interface.

2. Local PDF and image processing

PDFCone’s document tools are designed to process selected PDF and image contents locally:

• Website tools process supported files in your browser.
• Android app tools process supported files on your Android device.

PDFCone does not intentionally upload the contents of files selected for document processing to a PDFCone document-processing server. PDFCone does not review, read, or store the contents of those files on its own servers.

Your browser, operating system, file manager, backup service, cloud-storage provider, or other software you choose to use may handle files independently under its own settings and policies.

3. Information processed when you use the website

When you visit the PDFCone website, the website or its hosting, security, analytics, and advertising providers may automatically receive limited technical information such as:

• IP address
• Browser and device type
• Operating system
• Referring and exit pages
• Date and time of access
• Pages viewed, clicks, and similar interaction information
• Cookie or comparable browser-storage information

This information may be used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, measure, and improve the website, prevent abuse, understand general usage trends, and display advertising.

4. Cookies, Google AdSense, and website advertising

PDFCone may use cookies or comparable browser technologies to remember preferences, maintain functionality, measure site performance, prevent abuse, and support advertising.

The website may use Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, identifiers, IP addresses, browser information, and interaction information to provide, measure, personalize, limit, and secure advertisements, depending on your region, consent choices, browser settings, and Google settings.

5. Information handled by the PDFCone Android app

Local recent-file history

The app may save a local list of recently created or opened PDF and image files so that you can find them again. This recent-file history is stored on your device. You can clear it from the PDFCone Settings screen. Clearing recent history does not delete the saved output files themselves.

Saved output files

Files created by PDFCone are saved to locations selected or provided by Android, such as app-related folders in Downloads or Pictures. These files remain under your control and may also be visible to file managers, gallery apps, backup tools, or cloud services you have enabled.

No PDFCone user account

The current version of the app does not require you to create a PDFCone account. PDFCone therefore does not maintain an app-account profile or account password for you.

6. Google AdMob and Android advertising data

The PDFCone Android app uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob) to display advertisements, including interstitial advertisements at appropriate transition points.

According to Google’s current Mobile Ads SDK disclosure, the SDK may automatically collect and share information such as:

• IP address, which may be used to estimate general location
• User-product interactions, such as app launches, taps, and ad interactions
• Diagnostic information, including crash and performance-related information
• Device and account identifiers, which may include the Android Advertising ID, App Set ID, or related identifiers

Google may use this information for advertising, ad measurement, analytics, security, and fraud prevention. Depending on your region, consent choices, device settings, and Google configuration, the app may receive personalized ads, non-personalized ads, limited ads, or ads that use only essential technical delivery.

PDFCone does not intentionally provide your PDF or image contents to Google AdMob, and document contents are not used by PDFCone for advertising.

7. Google User Messaging Platform and privacy choices

The Android app uses the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to manage privacy messages and advertising choices where required. The app requests updated consent information when it starts and displays a consent form when Google determines that one is required.

Some privacy messages require the app to provide an entry point that lets users review or change their choices. When required for your region or message configuration, PDFCone displays a “Privacy choices” entry in the Settings screen.

Consent signals and related technical information may be processed by Google so that Google Mobile Ads can determine the permitted ad-serving mode and comply with applicable privacy requirements.

8. Android permissions

Notifications

On supported Android versions, PDFCone may request permission to display notifications. Notifications are used to tell you when a file-processing task has completed and to help you access the saved output. Notification permission is optional and can be changed at any time in Android Settings.

File selection and saving

PDFCone uses Android’s file-selection and storage interfaces so that you can choose input files and save output files. The app accesses files that you select or create for the requested operation.

9. Analytics, crash, and performance information

PDFCone does not currently include a separate Firebase Analytics or similar general-purpose analytics SDK added by PDFCone. However, the Google Mobile Ads SDK processes certain interaction and diagnostic information for advertising, analytics, security, and fraud-prevention purposes as described above.

If the app is distributed through Google Play, Google Play may provide PDFCone with Android Vitals or similar crash, ANR, and performance reports. PDFCone uses such reports to diagnose technical problems and improve app stability. PDFCone does not intentionally include the contents of your selected documents or images in those reports.

10. When information may be shared

PDFCone does not sell your document contents or intentionally share them with advertisers. Limited technical or usage information may be processed by third parties in these circumstances:

• Google advertising and consent services: to provide ads, measure performance, manage privacy choices, prevent fraud, and maintain security.
• Website infrastructure providers: to host, deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the website.
• Legal and safety reasons: when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, enforce rights, investigate abuse, or protect users, PDFCone, or the public.
• User-directed actions: when you choose to open, share, upload, email, or save a file through another app or service.

11. Data retention and deletion

Document contents

Because selected document contents are designed to remain on your device and are not intentionally uploaded to a PDFCone document-processing server, PDFCone does not maintain a server-side retention period for those document contents.

Recent-file history and app data

Local recent-file history remains on your device until you clear it in PDFCone Settings, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall the app. Saved output files may remain after the app is uninstalled and must be deleted separately using Android or a file manager.

Website, advertising, and third-party data

Cookies, logs, advertising information, consent records, and diagnostic information processed by Google or other service providers are retained according to their applicable policies, settings, legal obligations, and operational needs.

Support communications

If you contact PDFCone, your message and contact details may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to answer your request, maintain support records, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of information directly controlled by PDFCone by using the contact details below, subject to lawful retention requirements.

12. Security

PDFCone uses reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the Services. Local processing reduces the need to transfer document contents to a PDFCone server. Network communications used by third-party services are generally protected using encrypted connections such as HTTPS or TLS.

No website, app, device, storage medium, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should protect your device, keep backups of important files, and review generated files before relying on them.

13. Children’s privacy

PDFCone is not directed specifically to children under 13, and PDFCone does not knowingly request that children under 13 provide personal information directly to PDFCone.

The Services may use third-party advertising and technical services that process device, usage, or advertising information as described in this policy. Parents or guardians who believe that a child has sent personal information directly to PDFCone may contact us to request review and deletion.

14. Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding personal information, including the right to:

• Request access to information directly controlled by PDFCone
• Request correction or deletion
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
• Complain to an applicable data-protection authority

You can also manage information and choices through these controls:

• In the app: use “Privacy choices” when that option is shown in PDFCone Settings.
• Recent history: clear local recent-file history from PDFCone Settings.
• Notifications: disable PDFCone notifications in Android Settings.
• Advertising controls: use your Android advertising-privacy settings and Google Ads Settings.
• Website cookies: use your browser settings and any consent controls shown on the website.

Requests concerning information controlled directly by Google should be submitted through Google’s own privacy tools and policies.

15. Third-party websites and privacy policies

The Services may contain advertisements or links to external websites, app stores, email apps, or other services. PDFCone does not control those third parties. Their collection and use of information are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

You should review the privacy policy of any external service before providing information or completing a transaction.

16. Changes to this Privacy Policy

PDFCone may update this Privacy Policy when the website, Android app, third-party SDKs, advertising practices, legal requirements, or business practices change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
